HOW IT WORKS
Forge2gether turns simple conversations into powerful bridges between generations. Every step is designed with care, guided by research, and centered on empathy, safety, and human connection.

Step 1: Training for Connection
Before speaking with an elder, every teen completes a 45–60 minute Forge2gether training program. Through five interactive modules, students learn how to listen deeply, ask meaningful questions, and create safe, respectful spaces for storytelling. The training ends with a short exam — students who score 80% or higher earn certification to lead interviews.
Step 2: Start the Conversation
Certified students pair with adults aged 50 and older for a 40 to 45 minute conversation guided by research-based questions that inspire warmth and optimism. Each dialogue is recorded with consent and followed by a short reflection that encourages students to process what they’ve learned and express gratitude for the shared experience.

Students receive three verified service hours for completing the training and their first interview. Each additional completed interview counts for two service hours. Through this process, students gain hands-on experience in empathy, communication, and research while creating moments of real human connection.
